Geocaching Part 2

One of the cool things about geocaching is that we have visited places that we never would have had it not been for geocaching. We decided to hike to a lake because there was a geocache placed there and we thought we would give it a try even though the last two people who looked for it couldn't find it. We arrived at ground zero and looked around for it but no luck for us however, we came across the most beautiful lake. It reminded us of Mammoth Lakes in California.

Beautiful day and lake!

I always have fun with this lady!

Geocaching

When we were in Otaru I was able to find a couple of geocaches. Around where we are staying though, there are only three. I struck out on one yesterday but was able to find one today. We decided to drive to the last one which was about 20 minutes away and was way up the mountain. We weren't able to find the third one but we ended up seeing some beautiful sights.

No luck.

Lamb Lunch

Joanna found a lamb barbecue place and since we both love lamb we decided to try it. It was better than expected and we even ordered a second plate. We left very satisfied but not stuffed. Perfect!

River Rafting

We got up early because we had booked a river rafting trip which was awesome! We hit some rapids, stopped to look at fish, and even got stuck on a rock twice. They advised us not to take our phone so we didn't therefore no pictures. We bought some that they had taken so we will post once we get them in a week or so.

Seriously?

Yes. We had another salad again for dinner tonight. It's not only that the vegetables are fresh, they have so much flavor. I guess because it is locally grown then it is better than vegetables that are shipped to the stores. I knew that but I guess it has been an eye opener for us and when we go back to Numazu then we are going to look for locally grown vegetables. We bought some corn but we forgot to buy butter. Didn't matter. It was the sweetest and most delicious corn on the cob I've ever had. I might become a vegetarian after this trip. Well...maybe after tomorrow when we go to a lamb restaurant for lunch. 🙂

Winery

After the fruit farm we decided to visit the local winery. They had free wine tasting and Joanna was able to try the different red wines they had to offer. I had to abstain because the blood alcohol limit for driving is 0% which we really like and since I was driving then it was easy to respect the driving laws here. We bought a bottle to drink back at our cabin and it was delicious. We bought their #1 best seller.

Market

It was so cool going back to the produce market and buying more vegetables. They post the growers above the produce you are buying so you know who grew it. While we were there, an older lady walked in with her rolling cart with fresh vegetables on it and stocked her small section.
